Design to Completion – The process
“How does it all work?” ….. is often one of the first questions we hear from potential new clients. Every project is different and we work with clients in several ways, depending on the complexity of the project.
The process usually starts with a phone call or email.
“I know what I want, but I don’t sew!”
This is often the case when we’re replacing existing treatments with something similar, or making something like a window seat cushion, where there’s not a lot of design decisions to be made. If you send us some dimensions, photos and a description, we can work up a rough quote for you. We will then work with you to fine tune the details.
“Help, I need window treatments, but I don’t know where to start!”
The possibilities can be overwhelming when faced with a new home full of bare windows. Windows by Liz can simplify the process for you.
We’ll start with a phone consult where Liz will gather information about your windows , your home, and your ideas.
Next will be an in home visit of about one hour. At this time, Liz will take measurements and photos. She can show you design idea books and learn more about your style, colors and budget. Depending on the scope of the project, we may also look at fabric samples at this time.
Back in the studio, Liz will work on 2-3 computer renderings using her state of the art design software. These will help you visualize how the treatments will look in your home. The renderings will be emailed to you, so you can consider the options at your convenience.
When you have chosen a design, Liz can show you samples of fabrics, and recommend trims and hardware to complement your design.
A 50% down payment will get your project on our workroom schedule. Your treatments will generally be installed about 6-8 weeks later.
