Growing up in England, I learned to sew as a child and quickly discovered I could easily and inexpensively create a new wardrobe for my Barbie dolls. As my skills improved, I moved on to full size dressmaking and eventually to making curtains for my first home! In 2005, while raising my family in Harvard, Massachusetts, the time was right to realize a dream and Windows by Liz was born.

I believe that the best tools, materials and techniques make the best finished products. As such, I’ve always embraced educational opportunities in the window treatment industry. I’m an active member and past board member of our local chapter of the Window Coverings Association of the America, and currently serve as Vice President of the national board of WCAA. In 2006, I earned Certified Window Treatment Workroom status. I continue to learn through attending conferences, classes and seminars. In 2010 I was a winner in the Custom Home Furnishings Alumni Showcase and my work was displayed at the Vision Conference in Las Vegas. In 2017 I was able to give a little back to the industry by teaching classes at the Custom Workroom Conference.

My Workroom

My workroom grows a little every year. It now takes up most of the lower level of my home and I have amassed a great collection of machines, tools, and samples. This, combined with relationships I’ve built with trusted suppliers enable me to design and fabricate unique window treatments and soft furnishings for both homeowners and interior designers .
